Just got off the phone with XBOX Live. It takes 3 minutes to enter your corporate card to sign up for one month membership on the console to be able to do a demo at CES, and over 30 minutes on the phone (you cannot cancel on the console or online) to cancel this recurring charge. What a pain!
In retrospect, here’s what I should have done:
- Call (800) 4MY-XBOX = 1-800-469-9269
- Ask to cancel subscription, give your vitals, get their name/employee code, and get reference code from first person to answer phone. When they try and transfer you to another person, hang up. The second person, in the billing department, ate up all the time on the phone (first person took 5 minutes, and then transferred me to the “billing department”, who took 30 minutes.)
- If they try and charge you, dispute the charge and quote the reference code above. Remember, they don’t have your signature.
