David Kabal was born in Canada. He received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1996 and 1998 respectively. Between 1997 and 2009, David worked at Nortel, Picolight, ICS, Seagate and Light Blue Optics, in optical communications, consumer electronics, and displays.
In 2009, David’s life took an abrupt career shift and changed his volunteer firefighting passion into a career, first as a seasonal firefighter, then as an EMT on an ambulance, then a paramedic working in the 911 system in Boulder. Now he’s a career firemedic with a Boulder County fire department.
David has UK, Canada and US citizenships.
