Portal review

In a previous post, I said I would write a Portal review, so here it is (I played it about 2 months ago, for reference).

First up, I hate puzzle games. I really only play FPS games these days, and really only those with uncomplicated controls. That being said, I understand something I heard:

There are only two types of people, those who’ve played Portal and love it, and those who are desperately trying to avoid playing it despite all their friends trying to convince them to.

I loved the game. It’s short (about 5-8 hours) but with the quirky GladOS character, it’s a fun ride.

Without giving anything away, the goal is to traverse each level using a portal-creating gun. A portal is a passage from one area to another (kind of a teleporter). This sounds lame, but is really a lot of fun, even for those folks who don’t play any other video games (the Wii crowd).

So just buy it. Play it. Enjoy it.
