Biography

David Kabal was born in Toronto, Canada in 1972. He received the B.Eng. and M.Eng. degrees in Electrical Engineering from McGill University in Montreal, Canada in 1996 and 1998 respectively. His M.Eng thesis research was in the area of packaging of two-dimensional optoelectronic device arrays for free-space optical interconnects. In 1997, he joined Nortel Networks, where he worked in optoelectronics and metropolitan area networks until September 2000. From October 2000 to December 2003, he worked at Picolight in Boulder, Colorado where he was a senior technology planner for optoelectronic transceiver modules. In January 2003, he joined ICS, a semiconductor company, in San Jose, California, where he was working as a Senior Marketing Manager in the Video group until the end of March 2005. In September 2005, he joined Seagate, a hard disk manufacturer, in Longmont, Colorado, where he is Product Manager for Consumer Electronics.
